And we all thought that Vince McMahon didn't listen to us.
Historically Vince has been reluctant to use match styles that weren't of his own creation, and WarGames is in that category. The historic, and violent, match style that originated in WCW was used as a mega blowoff with multiple feuds crossing over at the same time in one cage. Unlike other gimmick matches that usually include a slew of wrestlers who have no real shot of winning, WarGames was essentially an all-star match featuring the company's top stars and hottest feuds.
Which brings us to our Money in the Bank main event.
We have Sheamus and Cesaro continuing on with their little tussle that gave us an awesome US title match at Payback. Roman Reigns and Randy Orton are sure to have a few moments together as Reigns begins his takedown of The Authority.
John Cena and Bray Wyatt will have one more go round with all the marbles on the line this time.
And Alberto Del Rio is there too.
This is the closest we're going to get to WarGames with so many big storylines tied into one match before they all go their separate ways or finally blowoff. Yes, the Money in the Bank ladder match, in the grand scheme of WWE, poses a problem in terms of circling back to Daniel Bryan once he gets back from injury and his potential program with Brock Lesnar. But in a vacuum this looks to be a modern take on a classic match style, and as someone who has a ticket to the show that sounds pretty damn good to me.
